In 2020, I traveled into Eastern Canadian territory to discover a life guided by the rise and fall of tides. I met fishermen whose earnest living aged like the shriveled ink of their sunbathed anchor tattoos, and a land whose edge sacrificially erodes back into the grasp of the ocean.

This exploration resulted in the creation of my self-published photography and poetry book entitled Father Fisher. Photographed on 35mm film and written using a typewriter, this project casts a feeling of nostalgic antiquity.

Following the successful launch of this project, I have decided to make 1/1 art pieces of prints encased in unique vintage frames.

This narrative-led project is a poetic interpretation of the quotidian lifestyle that resides at the far end of the St-Lawrence River.

My investigative approach led me aboard ships operated by land-sick sailors and onto an ocean that nourishes the coastal community’s identity.
